STORY

I knew girls who worked at the tapestries and they were very scary. You did not question or mess about with them.

They were real characters all of them and the work was facing the bullring in Birkenhead North end. This place was for living accommodation but was the most notorious place to go any time of day or night.

A circle of flats based around a courtyard could be seen from all angles. Policemen did not go in there, unless in 3's, that's how it was then in the early sixties.
The pub on the corner, 'The Blood Tub', was known as the hub of the community. It was like a little den and the place were all the decisions were made.
