Margaret Street Baths
This is a picture of my Dad, Richie Yates- he's the one with his hand on the rail-with his mate Frankie Quinn. It was taken in September of 1965 when they had the job of painting the baths in Margaret Street. My Dad is sadly no longer with us to confirm this account, but my mum tells me they were given the keys to the property in order to do this job and subsequently let their friends and neighbours in after closing time for a free go in the pool! My mum couldn't swim but she says she had a paddle and a great time was had by all. Thankfully they didn't get caught otherwise they would have been for the high jump I think.
